| Super Moderator | Here's how to post your avatar (the pic beside the names). First, choose the pic you want for your avatar, then edit it to the required size. It has to be within 80x80 pixels, or 19.5KB, whichever is smaller. Then, go to "UserCP"--it's the leftmost on the navigation bar right under the forum title--and open the "Edit Avatar" page. Follow the instructions there, save the changes, and, abracadabra, you're done! I hope to see many more of your faces...or your favorite stuff!

| Super Moderator | Thank you, lisa. Do you have a photo editing software? It should have some kind of "edit/save for web" feature that will enable you to resize your pic to the required size.

Height: | I thought that was what you were supposed to do, but for some reason it doesn't want to let me do it. I tried to go into edit avatar and click on the part and uncheck the option of not displaying an avatar, or something like that, and it won't do anything. Why do I have to have dumb aol and get messed up when I try to do anything? ughhhhhh. So I don't have my pic up on my posts due to technical difficulties not due to personal choice. Sorry.Janae |

| Super Moderator | Instead of unchecking the do not display, click "custom avatar" first, then put in the link of the pic you want to put up (remember to size it down to the required size first) in the upper box if you have a web pic site and your pic is in there, or the lower box if your pic is in your 'puter. by clicking the "reference" (or refer, file or whatever it's called, I'm sorry, mine comes up in Japanese, and the translation of the word there is reference) button on the right of the box, which will bring up a drop down menu of the files in your 'puter. Go to the file with your chosen pic, and choose the particular pic and click it, which will put the file url in the box. The do not use button automatically goes off with this procedure, so all you have to do then is save change, and you should be done. Go back to the main forum pages, and see if you've sucessfully put up your avatar, it should be there.

Height: | I can't find a place that says "custom avatar" as a choice. I downloaded a custom profile picture, but in the actual avatar section, it doesn't give me that option. Janae |

| Super Moderator | When you click Edit Avatar, the Edit Avatar box should open on the right of the drop down index of the UserCP. In the Edit Avatar box, there should be two sub-boxes, "Your Current Avatar" on the top, and "Custom Avatar" on the bottom. If this doesn't come up, then you'll have to hollar for help from either Craig or Michael. Or, you could try cleaning your browser slate by using "Disk Cleanup" if your OS is Windows, bring up this site again, and retry, and if not successful, hollar for help. For DiskCleanup, do the following. Bring up the program list, then go to Accessories-> System tool-> Disk Cleanup. Run the menu--it may take several to over 10 mins, and a list comes up with what you can get rid of. Make sure the check on "Temp internet file" is on, and leave the others off, then proceed the cleanup. You get a clean slate with your internet cookies and things--it's like keeping the address, but erasing the route on the map, so you can bring up the route anew. When you access your favorite internet sites after running the cleanup, you'll notice that it takes longer for the pages to come up the first time, but that's because the previous records have been erased. The second time on, things should be back to before. Good luck!
