Default Advice Please

I had my surgery 11 months I have done pretty good up until the last month. I have been having issues with swollowing food. It seems like my food gets stuck and when i put my chin down to my neck it is uncomfortable. I have a Dr appt next Wednesday and I am scared they are going to have to put a scope down my throat. Has anyone had this problem?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I haven't had one, but you could be getting a stricture which would need to be checked out. If it gets worse, call instead of waiting for a week.

Hope you find out something soon. That sounds very uncomfortable. I have never felt like that but I have not had any strictures.

Thank you MJ and Dixielady. It is very uncomfortable and annoying. I hope it not a stricture that sounds painful.

Sounds like a stricture--the narrowing of your stoma.
Don't worry about the scope, you're usually put out (or given meds so you won't remember afterwards) so you'll be fine.
If it is a stricture, you'll get a process called dilation, where a small balloon is inserted along side the scope, and slowly blown up to slowly spread the opening, and this shouldn't be painful either.
Hope you'll be able to eat correctly soon.

Don't wait if the pain gets worse. I haven't had anything like that yet but I am only 3 months out.
