Post Open incision still...

I am starting to get a bit nervous...I had my surgery on 7/29/11 and still have one open incision...It wasnt all the way closed when I went for my week check up and they still took the strips off and put gauze. It would close and open and now it is just open...I called the doctor last week and he advised me to continue to clean as normal with soap and water, clean with hydrogen peroxide and cover with gauze during day. At night I leave it uncovered. He also advised me to use strips at the end of the incision so that it does not open, but...the wound is still open. The incision is only about a 1/2 inch- so not big at all; plus all other incisions have healed...but it is grossing me out...and Im worried...anybody have issues with this?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Just do as your surgeon says and keep it clean.
Incisions need to heal from the inside to the outside to prevent a pocket from forming.
If the rim gets red, or the area starts feeling feverish, or becomes more painful than it is now, let your dr know.

The rim of the incision is a bit red...a llittle sore directly at the site...The doctor said unless I get a fever, have green stuff coming out- or if it is smelly- then I shouldn't be worried...Thanks for the confirmation- needed it! Phewwwww....

Also tell your Doc if you have pus-like drainage coming from the wound. Sometimes it takes a little while for the wound to heal.
