Father you have made me
you gave me sight to see
you gave me ears to hear
and all of these thigs i find so dear
But Father when i left home
i went into a world to me unknown
i've made my path and trudged along
trying to sing a happy song
But things piled up and i got lost
i didn't stop to consider the cost
you took the time to stop me
you let me understand and see
And there's still things that I must do
before i can come back to you
but i've become of this world you've made
and willingly, your words i've disobeyed
You've shown me the way that i should go
you've told me all i need for now to know
but still i try to make my own way
and though i still hear the things you say
i can't seem to do the things you want
and in my dreams my sins do haunt
so whatmust i do to overcome this thing
so once again i may sing
those happy songs of praise to you
