Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  WLS and Ephesians..... I know we all have a variety of beliefs here- but I wanted to share a story based on something that happened to me. About a year before my surgery I was DETERMINED to lose the weight and do it without WLS. I was on a doctor managed diet and doing my best to stay on it. I was praying like a mad woman for strength! One day I was driving in the car and IN MY HEAD there was a battle going on. I wanted to eat, and felt an overwhelming urge to get FOOD. It was such a strong urge- and I was mentally fighting it trying to stay on track. During this (and all was quiet in my car) my daughter said "Mommy, who just yelled?" I said, "Nobody was talking, honey." And she said, "Yes, someone just yelled really loud FOOD." Let me tell you- the goosebumps on my arms stayed for hours! The overwhelming urge for food felt like someone yelling in my ear- and to have my then 4 year old say that just showed me that for me this battle was more than flesh and blood- but very much spiritual. After this happened I realized that not only could I personally beat this "beast", but that maybe God was providing another way for me to find peace with food. I just recently have felt this peace with food and I am SO thankful! I know it is still a battle I will deal with, but I know that I cannot do it alone, and that there is MUCH more to it then just being a girl that liked to eat! For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
