| What is meant to be...
Martha posted recently on prayer, and I came across the thread again...dind't want to hijack, so I started this one...
I pick up the news everday on the internet...and I can't believe where the economy is...I've been out of work over 5 months...I don't know what to do...I get up every morning and send out resumes...they don't even hardly pick up the phone anymore to even talk to you...they just send you this autobot response about how great you are, but they've opted to go with other candidates.....
I've prayed daily about this...and I AM LIVING proof that everything happens for a reason and exactly how it's supposed to happen. I know the right job is out there....but I've WORKED SOLID for the last 27 years...this is such an unusual place for me....
I have turned it over to the Lord and I know HIS direction will take me to where I need to be....I am keeping the faith...I know I'm TEN times more marketable since the weight loss.....the thing is, when I do interview, they look at me and have no clue where I came from. I'm getting interviews with companys now who probably wouldn't have given me the time of day pre-op (sad to say...but in sales, you need to have the KNOWLEDGE and the presentable package...I DO CLEAN UP NICE, regardless of how I look in a bikini LOL) My most recent contact is with American Express....you guys cross your fingers for me....it's a really sweet position that I'm TOTALLY qualified for...it's hard when you go from earning what I was making to trying to survive on unemployment...(thank GOD DDH's job is going well)...
This too shall pass....and I know from all the news/reports, I'm hardly alone in my plight....there are THOUSANDS out there looking for work...and more to join us shortly.....I THANK GOD EVERY DAY...for my family, my health, my life. This is the time for us to give thanks...and I'm trying to remind myself of that every moment....
You guys keep me in your prayers....I could use all the help I can get!!

Kath,
I was just thinking about you when I read the headlines about unemployment. You are so right, sometimes you just have to turn i tover to Him and know that He has a plan.

I think that's why I'm not EVEN looking forward to Christmas....it lost it's sparkle in 2006 when I lost my mom...this year, I want to turn out the lights, lock the door and sleep right thru it...
my kids are old enough to understand...and tey know the "giving" will be light this year......but it has NOT stopped them from asking for expensive gifts...they have actually gotten smart about it...they want everyone to chip in toward one big gift (which totally works for me).....but the gifts are expensive...son wants a macbook...daughter wants a new digital camera and new ipod...

Yes, I don't think there are very many NOT feeling the crunch. We own our own company, and what's coming in is much less, but what goes out...HAS GONE UP!!! It's a sad state and getting worse before it gets better. Prayers for you my friend.

Kath- you are in my thoughts and prayers! I try hard to remain optimistic and even sometimes a bit of denial with the economy....it's a scary thing, but I believe that change is coming, and it will be good! And that goes for you and your prospects too, they will come!

The state of the economy is horrible. I have so many close to me that are really suffering. I own my own business also and my income is cut in 1/2 or more. I am the main provider for the family and it is VERY stressful for me. Being in such a pinch makes the Christmas season and time of giving less enjoyable. Kath....I have faith that the right job will come your way. Keep doing what you are doing and you will find a great job. I will keep you in my prayers. I hope you find something soon....I know how stressful it must be.

Sending out a prayer for you. I work in retail and sales have been at a stand still. The other day at 12:00 noon I would have normally taken in sales of $1,000. It was at -$25 and they slashed hours. I work 8 hours a week.
