Hi all. Had gallbladder out last week. All was going great then developed severe pain. Went to local ER and told constipated. My surgeon is 4.5 hours away. Anyways...drank the mag citrate and more severe pain. This time called surgeon and he direct aerdmitted me. Found out ulcer. Will go in tomorrow for exploratory lap. Think might be hernia. Please pray all is ok and speedy recovery. My job that I took to come back to area dismissed me 3 wks into my resignation. A lot of stress for me and family. Need quick healing and this resolved. Thanks to all...love and hugs...Mel

Hey Mel, So sorry to hear about your situation. So scary and so unexpected.
I hope by now the lap is done and doc has determined and corrected the problem.
So what happened with the job? I don't understand.. 3 weeks into the resignation??
Well, more about that another time-k? But I do know there is a need for quality medical people and when you are ready, there will be an even better situation for you.
Keep posting ok? Let us know you are ok... all the best!!

*HUGS*
I had my gallbladder removed over a year ago (last May) and the pain medications they had me on while in recovery were what caused me to have HORRIBLE pains! My ulcers weren't found until much later but I do believe the pain meds irritated them so much that it should have been a clear sign. Instead, my doc misdiagnosed and said I had gastroparesis! Eeeek! Luckily, once the ulcers were found (1 gastric, 2 duodenum aka duodentitis) I was put on carafate and it has helped heal them wonderfully! They should be able to give you medicine to relieve it and I am hoping and praying they do because the pain from ulcers is horrible!!!! Hang in there, you are in my thoughts.

Keep posting ok? Let us know you are ok... all the best!! | I moved back home and took my old job back. Hated it. I think that is where the ulcer started. So, another job dropped in my lap that looked promising. I agreed to take it and turned in my resignation of 6 wks. I even made sure I had a replacement coming in for me. Three weeks into this six wk notice time I was sent an email stating I would no longer have a job and the reason was so that I could start my new employment earlier. Clearly they were disgruntled and let me go before benefits kicked in. I was able to move up my start date of employment and I moved up my gall bladder removal as well to have time to recover. Thing is that I am having other health issues and I. Am up in the air on what will happen. I am at hospital now. I was bumped due to a more acute case needing to go first. I won't lie...I dread anethesia, incision pain, gas pain, and just having to heal. Thank you for the prayer. It is needed and appreciated.
