 |  Here's the whole ugly story.
Came home from hospital about 2.5 hrs ago cardiac cath showed no blockages, but did showed damage on the left side. they did an Eco cardiogram today, but that won't be available until Monday it will show how much damage there is and he will decide whether i will just have to only take meds or if it's ejection fraction is too low then a pace maker might have to be done. Liver functions are still about 6 times higher than normal. Dr reddy thinks its because of sludge in the common bile duct have to have labs drawn in 2 weeks , if they are normal then I will just have to have labs every couple of months. If they don't normalize then I will have to be sent to UAB for an ERCP , they cannot do it here due to the fact that gastric bypass pt's system being altered so can't do the normal route so dr reddy wants it done where they specialize in bypass patients
I will be at work Monday AM. But will have to call first thing to get appt for sometime monday .

Do they think any of this is related to wls? | No I really don't think any of the issues are to do with my RNY. More than anything I think it was the other way around. I really think the damage to my heart was probably from being over weight for so many years. Ofcourse I don't have proof of that. But in my heart (no pun intended) I think the obesity had to have had atleast something to do with it. If the ejection fraction isn't too low , then meds will more than likely keep things going in the right direction. Doc would be able to offer an opinion I'm sure. All I know is for the last 16-18 yrs I was heavy and that couldn't have been good for the ticker. And before the RNY my cholesterol was in the 350's so that too isn't conducive to a healthy heart or liver. I look forward to hearing doc sane's take on this.
Again thank you all for the good thoughts and mostly for the prayers. I know god did not bring me this far to let me now fail as a SKINNY person.

(((HUGS))) Glad your condition has stablised and you are home.
Take good care of yourself, though, as your issues are being kept at bay at the moment, for them to improve given time.
I don't think WLS surgery has any direct connection with what's with your heart. The damage had been building up over the time you carried excess weight, even if drs visits and exams didn't reveal anything. It probaby was at a point something would have happened, surgery or no, weight loss or no, and carrying exceess weight at the moment something had happened could have had a much worse outcome than what actually happened.
On the other hand, the sludge may have been made worse by the fact that WLS post ops can easily get dehydrated which will increase the concentration of the blie, causing the sludge.
