Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass   |  Please Pray for my Causin Okay nobody knows this But I had a causin that had Gastric bypass surgery 18 months ago. She has gone through Hell with her surgery, She has had to undergo 3 additional procedures to have corrections made. I would like for everyone to please pray for my causin, She had her surgery reveresed as a final attempt to try to gain weight. Yes a word that we all dispise she desepartly needs. She started her journey at 290 and is now 103 she has lack of all vitamins and has tried many times. She is not happy and the doctors finally decided as a final attempt to reverse gastric bypass. I dont know anyone that has actually needed this procedure done. This is the worse and now has me very worried. I am 163 today and am worried that what if I dont stop loosing. What if????? Please join me as we pray that my causin finds the strength to heal.

I am sorry she has had complications that ultimetly result now in a reversal. (((HUG)) and do keep us updated. AS for you of course you havent gone thru what she has so most probably i would think when your body is ready and you go on a maintenance program with your surgeon you will stop looseing. BUT i would expect it to be normal to go thru these thoughts being your cousin is experiencing all that. | Super Moderator  | ((((((HUGS)))))) Keeping your cousing and you, too, in my prayers. Yes, sometimes, this kind of thing happens. There is a risk, there as well. LittleLisaMarie has a friend who has gone through something similar. She came on board once, and posted about herself, though her screen name slips my mind right now. Your cousin's trials will of course scare you, it's only natural as it's about someone you know very well. However, hers is the exception to the rule, so trust that you will do fine. ((((((HUGS)))))) again.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Jessica, I will also pray for you cousin. I have heard of this one other time. I acutally watched it on the discovery channel. They followed these two women through the before....the surgery and still with them afterwards. One lady had to have .....Well you know I cant say reversed but had some additional intestines hooked back up so more food could be absorbed. The makers of this show will tell you they of course had no idea she would do this. They just found 2 really overwieght women to do storys on. I have watched this series play out. Sure its scary but they do have ways to help with it if it gets out of control. Im sure it was one in a millon case. By the way this lady did very well right after the last surgery. They showed her eating again and finally gettting strength back and finally walking, somthing she hadnt done in years before she had this done. Im sure with all the prayers shes getting and the skilled Drs she will be ok. And yes like DOC said shes the exception to the rule. I do thank you for posting this because everyone should know all the risk we take when we decide to have this done. I hope this post finds you well and your cousin doing much better. |
