 |  My cousin and my thoughts...
I haven't updated all of you on my cousin lately. She has been taking double doses of chemotherapy and if she can make water, she might be able to come home in a few days. She is going to try and do chemo on an outpatient basis. They know the type of cancer she has, it is very rare and I cannot think of its name, but it was discovered in 1890's. She is still very strong in her faith and continues to ask for prayer. Thank you, dear friends for praying for her and for your continued prayers.
I just wanted to take a minute and thank God for the opportunity I had to change my life with this surgery. I put my life in His hands and He pulled me through. I know that I could not have done this surgery a few years ago because I was not baptized or saved. Those two things have made the biggest difference in my life.
School is getting ready to start and I am excited that I feel better than I have in a long time. I hope it will make me a better teacher. I am also worried because I see so many young children throwing their lives away on drugs and alcohol. Our community is so affected by oxycontin; it terrifies me. It has ruined so many lives; and yet I know there are people who are genuinely hurting that need it. Please say a prayer for our youth and the children in your town - that they will be strong and take a stand against the evils of life. I get so nervous around anyone I think who has a problem; there was a girl at the pool the other day obviously messed up and I turned to prayer. I was led to pray for her and to ask for this prayer on here. I hope you all do not think I am crazy. I just worry so about the future.

My thoughts and prayers remain with you and your family. They also remain with our youth as you mentioned. I have been working with children and adolesents for a long time now. There are so many lost and without guidance. I hate to say it but the the adult population in many cases that are failing our children. My prayers are with them all the time. I have worked with foster children for a very long time and its just not fair what happens to many of them. But not just the foster children, we live in a very spoiled materialistic world today where many kids think they are entitiled to whatever they want. ANyway sending positive thoughts and prayers.
I could go on and on with this topic but i wont.

I too will continue to include you and your family in my prayers. I pray every morning and every night for all children that are in pain, abused or sick and even homeless with no love. I hate to say this but every morning for years my first words are " This is the day the Lord has made.... Be glad and rejoice in it." It is so hard sometimes to say that when I have heard of such horrible things that have happened and especially to these children and kids that lost in the big world. Mattie
