Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HI BREN!
WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!!!

HOW awesome that your surgery is comeing up on friday!
I can say it was the best thing i did for myself.
UNFORTUNATELY i didnt have to go on a liquid diet
that far before my surgery. I did have to loose 10 percent
of my weight pre op!!! JUST keep drinking away and do the
best you can on this pre op diet.
I look forward to getting to know you thru your posts.
AND dont forget to pack your chapstick!
hugs

Welcome to the board, bren, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on your date, it's coming up fast, I see, wishing you the best.

There was a post/thread about the pre-op liquid diet somewhere, I'll try to look it up later and link it here. I think I remember something about chicken broth helping a bit with the hunger, but I'm not sure, sorry to say.

((((((HUGS))))))) May your journey go well.

BTW I love your avatar, it is so cute!!

Thanks for the great welcome. I look forward to getting to know all of you too. It sure helps to have someone to talk to that understands what i'm going through.
I'll remember the chapstick.. I wouldn't even have thought about that!
So how long after the surgery do you start feeling better again?

HEY BREN...
your last question was how long till you will be feeling better is very hard tp gage. We all tolerate pain differently and seem to experience different
things.
FOR me i was back to my work in 12 days.
I had surgery on a wednesday AM and was released to go home on Saturday. THE first days home were difficult for me for sleeping wished
i had a reclinger chair for those nights but got thru it and each day got better. I weened myself off pain meds pretty fast as i hated the effect
they were having on me.....

JUST remember we are hear for any and all the questions that will arise on your journey!

Welcome Bren.

I had my surgery May 22nd, that on a Monday i have Wens,

I have now called it my new birthday as well, seeing my birthday was May1st, so i have changed it to the 22nd.

I have 52lbs, Well i havent weighted today yet.

At first some people have second thoughts, but i didnt, i knew it was going to take time, to get better. And i just took it one day at a time.

Food has never been a issue, with me. So i guess, that has helped as well. I had other med issue's for the reason i had this surgery, and i got the added best thing is to loose the weight.

So again welcome and Congrats.

Hey Bren welcome to the boards. I had my Lap RNY on April 4th of this year and have already lost 84 lbs. I started feeling a lot better a couple of weeks out. Every day was a little better for me. Just make sure that you follow your surgeon's advice and walking really does help. I didn't have to do the liquid diet pre op so I don't have any words of wisdom there, just hang in there and come to the site frequently for words of encouragement and check out the pics. THey help tremendously to motivate and visualize your future success. Congrats in your choice to be a big loser like us.
