Default I had the VBG in 2000 - Revison RNY on 3/22/11

I am scheduled for a "revison" surgery on this Tuesday the 22nd. Initially I had no idea I would be talking "revision", but with the problems I was having with the VBG, Revision was the only option. I am excited not to feel sick anymore, but I really didnt have the time to "mentally prepare" for this one like I did 11 years ago. My surgery was approve in about 1 week because it is considered medically necessary.

I am ready for the food part - just nervous about the unknown.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Nervous is normal. This is new territory for you, as it was for us all. RNY is a different critter, and you have to handle it the way it wants to be handled, but if you do, it'll blow your mind the places it'll take you!!

Good luck!!

Me too. I was a revision from a band to a gastric bypass on the 31st. Wish that I would have done more research at the time of my band and made the better decision for myself. Live and learn. Good luck on your revision and I hope your pain in minimum.

I think the Bypass was kinda a newbie in 2000, they were still pimpin out the VBG. The revision is not something I would just elected to do, but with all the issue's I am having from the VBG it is the only thing that makes sense... I am SOOOOO gonnna miss my cokes....

Thank you for the support and I will keep ya'll posted!

Best of luck on your surgery today. I was given the option of band or RNY with my doc. We discussed all the pros and cons. I was afraid I'd "cheat" it, so I went with the RNY. Some people say "oh you should to the band" but I'm glad, especially after reading, with my decision for the RNY. Hope you have a speedy recovery! Keep us posted!
