Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Well When I Had The Surgery I Ended Up Having A Leak And Absess So I Was In The Hospital For 10 Days. Then About A Month Or So Later I Ended Forming A Stricture And Had To Get Dialations Performed And On The Third Dialation It Ended Up Ripping Me Open So I Ended Of In The Hospital Again (that Was About A Month Ago). But Now It Looks Like All The Troubles Are Behind Me Thank God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But If Your Were To Ask Me Would I Do This Again With All The Helllllllllllll I Have Been Thru I Would Probably Still Say Yes. But I Would Say Yes With Fear Because All Those Problems I Had Were Scarey And Very Painful!!!!!!!!!!! But Worth It

I havent' had any major problems since the surgery. Had some gas pains that were killers. I am having trouble with my iron level. But they are working with me to get that were it needs to be. I haven't come off all my meds, but I am working on it. I am down to just needing a little insulin. I was using 100 units a day and now I take only 5 units in the am.

I know you've heard this all befor but I have to say it again. I had no problems after the WLS and I would have it done again. One thing I have to say though is your mind has to be in the right place. You have to be totally committed to changing your life style the surgery alone will not be enough, you have to be committed to changing your eating habits and be prepared to start exercising. Be very sure that you are at a point in your life where you are ready to give up whatever it is that overeating and eating the wrong things is giving to you or you will be very unhappy no matter how much weight you loose.

Hi everyone,

My name is elliejon and I had my surgery about 9 months ago. I really haven't had many problems until the last two months. I had to have an IV last month because of dehydration and yesterday I had another one. I felt extremely fatigued, dizzy, my heart was fluttering, etc. Does anyone else have this problem??? I try to drink water or sports drinks but apparently I am not drinking enough. I feel better today after my IV but really not back to normal. Is this normal or a weight loss patient? The doctors at the clinic (not where I got my surgery) are not really concerned and I hate to drive way up to the University of Minnesota. I do have an appointment at the U in April. Yesterday, I started on Ensure.....UGH. I also had the diarrhea for two weeks. It seemed as though everything I put in my mouth went straight through. It is much better today.
Anyway, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

I am just 3 months out...no complications at all.....went back to work in 12 days and I'm already 63 pounds down!

I am following doctor orders to a T, and they have a GREAT nutition program...as I understand it, some surgeons just do the surgery and provide very little education or follow up...I think that's IMPERATIVE...I've learned a lot of what was wrong with how I WAS eating....!
