Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Pamma I have had some post op but would still do it again. Mine come from a old adhesion from a old surgery I had back in 1994. It was a area of concern from the day the sugeon first looked at me so I didnt go in flying blind so to speak.

I haven't had any complications from my surgery but I believe the incidents of complications is less than 1% on average but as someone else said its major surgery. There are some posts about this somewhere here -- but you have to search. Good luck!

I've not had any complications *knocking on wood*

There is a post on here somewhere about someone who had horrible neurological complications including paralysis from not getting all her vitamins. That's pretty scary!

Just be aware that you MUST work at getting all your vitamins and minerals after this surgery, and it's not easy.

There's another one that I just saw last week about having to get the surgery reversed because of complications. But still, most of us have little or no complications. It's a decision only you can make for yourself, but I would do it again.

Knocking on wood here too but I am 6 months post op and havent had any probems at all. As others have said, its a major sugery and I dont have any regrets. I am happy with my decision and should have done this sooner. I know that things can still happen but so far so good for me. The only problem for me is some of the mind issues and etc...Just messes with my head some days but other than that no problems.

I had to go back in for a second surgery due to my intenstine twisting over itself due to a fat pocket loss. I had to have 1 1/2 feet of intestine removed because it died. It was a little scary at the time but all went well and if I look at the bright side, after that one I got six weeks off work. I am doing fine now, almost too fine as I can eat almost anything now. And even while I was still in the hospital I thought, "I would still have the WLS even knowing this." I am off most of my meds and am doing so much better healthwise, it was all worth it.

Wow ! Everytime I ask a person about their WLsurgery they always say they would do it again and recommend it. It must really change your life so much that a person would recommend it.
