I am now starting to have second thoughts about the operation.......should I just keep going as I am?[/QUOTE]
That is a question that you will have to decide for yourself. I think there are a couple of folks on this board that started the pre-op stuff and just kept doing what they're doing and have done great.
I know one of my patients was wanting to get the band and she started exercising and dieting some. She lost 30 lbs and her cardiologist said she needed to continue her program and not have surgery yet.
I wish there was more I could tell you, but it will have to be your decision on whether or not you get the surgery. If you're having second thoughts, you need to carefully examine them. The WLS is not an "easy" way out, nor is your diet and exercise. It is about *change*, and I mean real everyday for the rest of your life change. Change on the selection of foods, following vitamins, fluids, protein intake as well as the rules (with WLS). It can be done, but how are you ready to change?
Diet and exercise can work for some folks, but also, have you been there, done that and gained the pounds back plus some more? Are you ready to change your lifestyle? Only you can make the decision. I wish you nothing but the best!
I am also glad that you're making choices for a new healthier you!
