| Newbie | Hello everyone! My surgery will be the first week of September and I am working on some pre-op stuff in preparation of my new lifestyle so it will be a smooth transition. I have been reading on this and other sites about vitamins, protein shakes etc. and am officially overwhelmed by so much information. Can you give me some specific brands, flavors, etc. that you have found to work well for you? Thanks so much!!!! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Tooo cool that you have your surgery date early september! WHATS the exact date???? THIS is what i use: my vitamin is : centrum chewables I also take a B complex, Biotin and calcium..... I would ask your surgeon what calcuim he prefers for his patients. As far as protein shakes maybe check out he E store at the top for some protein shakes......ITs very hard when it comes to shakes I find we all have different tastes and likes for me i am lazy with work and 3 small kids i use the ready made varieties...So my shake brand is EAS - carb control AdvantEdge SHAKEs and i get them ready made in walmart. THERE powder doesnt interest me. I also use alot of HOOD Calorie countdown chocolate milk. I also like to use the STALLONE protein puddings that i get in GNC....at least there loaded with protein verses the sugar free varieties in the supermarket. BUt i use those too depends on my day and how my protein levels are. JUST a few things here that ae my fav..... ALL the best, just dont over buy pre op as you will find your tastes completely change post op! GOOD LUCK! and welcome again to the boards!

| Newbie | My doctor and nutriotionist both said the best for me to take is the isopure from gnc you can buy bottles with 40 gram of protein or buy the mix with 50 grams of protein..they said this is the best to start off with then as you add more protein to your diet you can drink less mix. I have found this is the best price wise also. At gnc if you buy the stuff and don't like it thay will take it back no questions...also great. Hope this helps I love the choc..don't care for the pineapple/strawberry mixed ones. Be sure to buy the zero carb one or low carb 3 grams of carbs per serving. Both have around 200 calories for your full days protein some of the bars you have to eat several of them and each one has over 200 calories. Freetasue |

Height: | Freetasue...I didn't know they would take it back if you didn't like it... that is good to know since I am currently sitting on a big container of the berry protein that I can't handle.... I wish I would have tried that earlier. Janae |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | IM a GNC gold card memeber for the extra percents off my sales the first week of the month. I was actually given it with out any extra fee as my local store changed ownership and the new owner was strumming up new business.

| Big Loser | Well. I also have a vat of GNC product that is horrible. I will be taking it back immediately. Hey Proudtobeme--I foung a great natural flavor protein powder that I add to everything. I got mine from Wegmans a local store, but I am sure you can find it somewhere in that big ole state of Texas. Protein consumption is essential in the early stages. |
