Default Protein problems

I have been only able to get about 20 grams of protein a day. I could drink whey protein before my surgey and it never botherd me. Now It makes me gag!!!!! I found some stuff in GNC that is called "liquad Protein" and it say it has 18 grams of Amino acides in 3 table spoons. Is this the same thin as protein?? I also just order atuff called ProtiDiet Protein Fruit Drink Concentrate. Has anyone used this?? Its rating are high.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

It certainly looks legit. Give it a shot! From what the others have said, it seems like it takes a lot of trying different products to find the right ones to work for you.

If whey protein doesn't sit well with you, perhaps try soy protein? The one I drink has 14 grams of protein per serving, plus I mix it with nonfat milk powder for an extra 8g protein, plus non-fat milk for yet another 8g. I have not had my surgery yet, so I have no idea if this is something that will work for me later in the game, though.

Let us know how it goes!

I couldnt do whey after surgery either , i would...I use Atkins premixed drinks with 15 grams of protien and then add powder milk for 8 more when i think of it lol....Atkins is made of soy...Sounds like alot of people have trouble with whey...I guess soy isnt as healthy for us , but its better than throwing up , as I told my nutristionist...good luck , I still have problems getting the right amount of protien in , no way could i do it by just eating...good luck , hugs , Annie

I cant handle the whey protien either. I use Prostat from Bariatric advantage, I mix the one ounce with my lemonade crystal light and I think it is delicious! Tastes like a fruity lemonade. I buy the wild cherry flavor.

Looks good to me ~ I couldn't handle the shakes very long either. There used to be some protein shake on here that people went nuts over, will do a search and let you know ~ is it just not palatable or do you think you just can't handle the whey? I didn't like the shakes ~ to the point of gagging ~ but do fine with milk. I used sf carnation inst breakfast in 16 oz of skim milk and sipped it til I got it in and got a decent amount of protein that way. Are you on soft foods yet? I also eat a lot of sf cook pudding ~ chocolate, the vanilla is too rich ~ so that gives you the protein in the milk also. Then, theres my famous cottage cheese fettish ~ LOL ~ I buy the 3# size container at Sams and it lasts me about 1 week ~ later you'll be able to add fruit and that's really good. You're off to a great start! Congrats

The one I was thinking of was Achieve one or something like that ~ everybody just loved them, I never tried it, tho, anyway, I was doing a search and found this thread that looked somewhat interesting, the sugar alch in this drink would not be my friend, if you know what I mean, but still, it's good to see what others have tried and liked. Have a great weekend - here's the link
