Default Surgery is Monday......Vitamins

I want to my pre surgery meeting a few days ago and thay told us we can only take bariatric vitamins nothing else. Well quit expensive $36.00 for 120 vitamins. I read on here that others take flinston vitamins. Is that ok to take right when I get out? What else should I have on hand as far as vitamins. Surgery is on Monday making sure I have everything on hand.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I take 1 bariatric advantage multi in the morning, and just before bed take 2 flinestones. I found if I took a bariatric before bed I found it hard to go to sleep because of the B vitamins. I was B1 deficient so I also take a 100mg B1 in the morning as well. That is my routine yours may vary according to your surgeons request.

I take centrum complete (for the 1st 3 months I used the chewable ones). Also the calcium citrate chews were good until I could swallow pills comfortable, then I switched to caltrate petits. My calcium runs high so I take 2 tablets instead of 4. So far my labs have been excellent

I ordered Celebrate bariatric vitamins and the calcet calcium chews as well as the iron. I haven't decided what I am going to do about the B12 yet, thinking about the monthly shots.

Celebrate had flavors that I knew I liked before surgery (never fond of cherry) and there are specific vitamins for the type of surgery you are having.

Good luck with your choice, I started a couple of months ahead and ordered samples first.

I have had stellar labs thus far, >2 years out.

I began with two children's chewables right out of surgery. It was not recommended specifically, but when I compared the nutrition it was comparable.

I choked down the calcium lozenges from Bariatric Advantage for the first two weeks, then split regular calcium citrate pills in three pieces and swallowed them whole.

After 3 months, my surgeon gave me clearance to swallow horse pills, so I now take three calcium citrates w/D in the AM, and at night a one-a-day woman's 50+ for a multi, a ferrous ferumate (iron) tab/day. a B-12 sublingual 1x/week.
