| Problems again....
Hiya all,
Is there anything other than problems for me....... I have been feeling increasingly like I have no energy etc, it was found that my iron, b12, calcium etc was all low, thye increased my dosage of everything and monitoring me closely, well I went to the hospital again yesterday and saw my consultant, I had more blood taken and he said I was to ring him today to get the results, well, I rang him and was told to get back to the hospital NOW!! as my calcium levels had dropped lower.... I have just got back and he has given me a higher dosage of Vit D which should help my body to absorb the calcium, but im to go back friday for another blood test, and then ring in the afternoon for the results, I said well ive got an appointment with you on monday cant it wait till then, he said NO this is serious you could go even lower or too high..... I really hadn't realised that Calcium has such an effect on our bodies, obviously they do..... My consultant is the best, he is off to Lisbon tomorrow on a working holiday, and yet im told to txt him to let him know how im doing and ring him if I have any problems, feel poorly etc and he has given me the mobile number of another consultant who is covering him this week at the hospital.....can't complain for the care I'm getting but feel slightly worried about what my body is doing..................

Yes, calcium is more than just bones, actually. It affects a lot of things including our muscles and heart.
Incidentally, age-wise, are you anywhere around menopause? I'm asking this because the decrease in estrogen with menopause lowers the ability of women to absorb calcium. You might have your dr check your female hormone levels as well, and if anything is low, try hormone replacement therapy along with everything until the levels come back up.
(((HUGS))) I hope everything can be brought up to speed.

Great to know doc my D was low at 3 months and I have had a hysterectomy and not on any hormone replacement medicine. My hot flashes are coming like crazy as many as 20 a day. After having a few I start to feel flush and really weak and feel like I could faint if I am up moving around. I just had my doctor call in a prescription for meds to help with this and also upped my D and calcium so maybe I can get my calcuim and D back up now. Michelle

Thanks Doc I will keep that in mind and mention it to my Consultant, although I have just hit 40 and still having regular monthly cycles with no probs, although they are heavier since weightloss...
I felt increasingly unwell yesterday (weds) and I txt my consultant to let him know as he told me to, ten munutes later I had a call from the doctor at the hospital who is covering for him to come in for more blood tests, I had them done and he rang to say that the level wasn't any worse but not much better, to rest up and go back friday but get in touch if I felt any worse! I spiked a temperature last night and went to bed shivering, so not sure if I have something coming on as well as..... going to chill out and rest at home today and hope that I get sorted.... what a blooming Journey!!!

Ange girly I swear you just cant catch a break honey. This post is very interesting to me its taking me to somthing I did not know so if you dont mind updating it as you find out more and more its knowledge to me along with you also Doc. I found out I went into menopause about the time I had surgery also and didnt know it because I had a hysterectomy at 29 so I had not signs except hot flashes at times. So I will follow you for sure like I always do. I will pray for you Ange. The man above has been good me to me and I will send another one up for him to help with. Love ya

Well Praise God I had a lovely weekend, Spiritally Feel refreshed, Physically feel awful, I kept having Cold, Clammy, Dithering spells which would last up to x2 hours people were getting blankets and jackets to snuggle me up in, but I found when I Undressed later I was all sweaty and horrible......Doc what on earth could this be, I still have a niggly pain in my pouch area, but I have eaten really well over the weekend, it helps having it all laid on for you..... Got to go back to the hospital tomorrow, so I suppose I may get some answers....thanks for listening!!

Aw (((HUGS))) Sounds like hypoglycemia to me, but you have a lot going on that it's truly hard to tell.
The pain..on a totally off chance...it could be something caught--the gut stuck a bit, a small pocket of infection, things like that--that are too small to show up with standard exams like regular CT, MRI, ultrasound. I sure hope your drs find the cause.
