Default No hair loss!! Yay!

Hi all, I am so happy with my progress, I am 6 months out and have experienced none of the dreaded hair loss that I was worried about!!! I am amazed! I also had my bloods checked and don't need B12 injections and my vitamin and calcium levels are all completely normal!!! I have had a BIG stall in my weight loss and haven't lost for the past 8 or 9 weeks but am gonna step the excercise up after the Christmas & New Year holidays! I think i may still be losing inches though as my clothes sizes are getting smaller!!

I haven't noticed any loose skin yet but I am pretty sure this will come!! :-(

I am SO glad I chose to go ahead with this surgery, its fantastic!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You look fabulous. I have noticed just a bit of hair loss in areas where I was also thinning already.

However, the past couple of days I have noticed more, but so has my mom so we are wondering if it is a seasonal thing.

You've lost 82 lb. in 6 months!! That is great!!! I hope that I am able to have lost as much when I reach 6 months!! I've lost some hair but, as much as I have, I could lose a bunch and know one, even me, would barely notice. That might change in the future, for now I am okay.

Halfway to goal in the first half-year - you are right on track!! Expect to lose half of your remaining excess weight in the next 6 months. You don't want to keep dropping it as fast as you are now or you'll crash at the bottom instead of having a soft landing. Think of a plane coming in to the airport. It loses a lot of excess altitude quickly when it leaves cruising height, but if it approached the runway dropping that fast ...

I sure hope you haven't just jinxed yourself on the hair loss!! I thought I had it made at 4-1/2 months, but a couple weeks later ... oh my!! Whatever happens, don't fret. It'll grow back!

Good luck!!

Congrats! My hair loss started around month 5 and ended around month 7. It does grow back, if it ever happens to you.

You've done such a fantastic job & are absolutely beautiful!!!

Quick question I am 8 months out and have lost 107 pounds and have about 20 more to go to reach goal. So since I am 8 months out about how long should I except it to take to lose the next 20 pounds? I know this can very based on a lot of factors. I have not lost but about 2 pounds over the last 6 weeks. I am wondering if I am done. I average about 800 calories a day so I know I am not eating to much and need to increase my calories but I get full so quick after only a few bites. I value your opinion so any help would be appreciated.

Michelle, you may not be eating enough to lose weight. If your body goes into starvation mode, it hangs onto everything it has. For those who count calories, 1000 seems like a better number, but calories tell you nothing about the balance of your diet. 60 g protein and 60 g carbs each have the same amount of calories as 27 g of fat, but what does 240 calories tell you about how well you're meeting your targets?

As far as how long it'll take? Ever hear "your mileage may vary"? Well, it may. No two of us lost the same way. Some faster (took me 7 months to lose 120 pounds) some slower (took Peanut over a year to lose 100 pounds.) The "average" the surgeons want to see is 50% of Excess Weight Loss (EWL) in the first 6 months, 25% more in the next 6, and the rest in the next year or so. I lost 88% EWL in 7 months. In just under 2 years Peanut has lost 84%. Surgeons consider 75% to be a success story and a good goal.

Your mileage may vary!
