Default Another B-12 question

I know, I know, but I can't find my notebook and was hoping someone here would know so I don't have to call my doc, lol.

So, B12. Walgreens has a BOGO deal on Nature's Bounty vitamins and I was in need of Magnesium, so I went over there. They also had sublingual B12. The smallest ones were 2500mcg. I *think* I remember from my info that it was 1000mcg suggested, but I don't remember how often.

Anyone have any idea if I would do the 2500 ones every day (like the bottle says) or if it would be, like, every other day? Once a week? Any idea where to start?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I take 2500 (?) once a day. I was listed in my book to take 2 to 3 times a week but the Nut. said daily would be fine. That way I would remember it. Oh course, yours could be different!!

Have you seen my thread on B 12 Survery? You may find it in Todays Posts... It was just up again.
The whole B12 thing is confusing to me and now I learned there are 2 or 3 types of B12 offered.
I was told sublingual, but many are injecting (themselves.) I take 500 mg a is day..mcg is a new measure to me and means I would have to talk to the pharmacist about it. Another little job to do regarding the blessed vitamins.
I think you have to get it straightened out with the doctor or nutrionist.
Good luck.

Also keep in mind that VB12 is a water solubule vitamin which means that you can't overdose (you will with fat soluble vitamins so you have to keep those within the limit), the extra will be excreted from your system without much ado. So, because some people don't absorb as well as others, even among WLS people, some will need more than others. If in doubt, it's okay to take even double dose.

Doc,
Will blood work determine how much B 12 an invidual would need?

It will tell you if you are deficient or not. If you are deficient, then you need to up your intake.

That said, the standard prescription for VB12 here (keep in mind it's for those with normal stomachs) is 1500mcg/per day.
