Unhappy I got the shot...

And i dont really feel any different. Should i feel an immediate burst of energy??? My doctor also seems to think I am borderline anemic which may be whats causing my sluggishness. I guess when the final results come back I'll be put on iron?? I hear iron is tough on the stomach. how is that going to work out with the pouch???

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I take some kind of vitamin type thing called Conison. Its iron and something else. They told me I would be on it forever. I think the other thing in it is some kind of enzyme that helps break down the food. But Im not 100% sure if I have my facts correct. But they put me on this at 1 week post op and Ive been taking it since then. Twice a day. My stomach seems to be ok.

I belive I read somewhere that the receptors that take up iron are the same ones that take up calcium, and that they're primarily in the area just below the stomach so the receptors are mostly bypassed. So it's possible that you are taking your multi at the same time as additional calcium supplements and that the calcium is the one being absorbed instead of the iron?

Yes, iron tablets are kinda tuff on your stomach/pouch, but I've had my patients react differently, so, it again is going to be trial and error.
Another thing about iron is, there are iron shots--IV--if you find the oral meds too hard.
Hang in there, I hope today will be a better day for you.

Hang in there Kendra, it will get better. It takes a minute for you to feel a difference once you get your shot.

I was told by my surgeon that the b12 shots will have nothing to do with my energy levels, but then when i go in to have the shots through my regular PC office they keep asking me if I am feeling any better.
So I know that this vitamin affects the nervous system, but does it REALLY affect your energy levels?????
A little confused about this....

The conison pills I take are a script from my surgeon. I take them twice a day. And like Lisa says, it took quite some time to get my energy back. My surgeon had said it could take anywhere from 4-8 weeks. So maybe your jut a bit slower getting your energy back.
