Default now or later?

so i'm doing protien bars and shakes 1 or 2 a day to help me lose some weight and get used to them, the dietician wanted me to start on multi vitamins so i'm doing that too, my question here is would it be of benifit to start taking the other vitamins and nutrients that i'll need after.? i know calcium won't hurt but i'm more specifically thinking of the vb12, can you get to much of that?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

yes you can get too much b12...my levels were tooo high before and 3 months post op...seems i absorb it a lil too well so i had to be cut back to 1 500 mg every other day.but everyone is different and thats a GREAT question for your dietician.but it looks like you doing great so far and really showing that you are in this for the long hall.keep up the good work

How much of lab work have you been done?
Ask your dr if VB12 was included, and if so, what the level was. If it was within normal limits, you can put that off until post op.

Nothing is mentioned in medical textbooks, so it's not likely something bad will happen. Actually, with water soluble vitamins-- Bs and C-- the extras are excreted so theoretically, overdose doesn't happen and the extra amount you ingested will go to waste. Some people like christy may have a natural tendency to absorb well, and to retain more than usual, but even then, there seems to be no obvious and unwanted consequenses.

pooky, i bought a really great protien bar at shopper's drug mart. it's a life brand called shapers. actually i'm looking at the wrapper now and it's called a nutritional energy bar, but the pharmasist helped me pick it. the one i tried is chocolate mint. if that doesn't do it for you you should try some of the products from the e-store here, i also am using a whey life brand protien shake powder. if you frapee it in a blender with skim milk and ice cubes it seems just like a chocolate milk shake.
i'm going to start vit-c, calcuim and vb12 next week after talking to my dr.

for ME, i took my multi vitaimin pre op and biotin.
SO far my blood work didnt show any problems but
I am now instructed to take two centrum chewables
and 1 Vitamin B complex. I was experiencing numbness
in my fingers and toes and this is the first step on
seeing if we can get this to go away.

I didnt start the b's till i was instructed to. I guess I
would do as your surgeon suggests.
