Default protien bars

Hey there,

Has anyone found a decemt tasting low carb protien bar? Also, has anyone one experienced this: after eating a protien bar, you get the munchies?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi Jaime...I really like the Slim Fast high protein bars and the new South Beach ones. They taste great and take away any thoughts of eating until dinner time. Best of luck to you!

I myself like the south beach protein bars and then there is another one that is called a brownie bar but cannot remember the name of it. It is not to bad on carbs and I think it is about 11 or 12 proteins. I do not have any left so I cannot check it and let you know. I am looking for a coconut protein bar but what I have checked on so far is pretty high in carbs and not enough protein.

I also like South Beach protein bars, also (this sounds crazy) Snickers has a protein bar that is low carb. I dont do protein bars too often, I also feel munchy after eating them, I like to take them in the car when I have to go to town, I can avoid having to eat fast food that way.

when I allow them, I use PURE PROTEIN chewy chocolate chip....I limit these, as they have more calories than I'm willing to spend....too high in carbs and some of them are high in sodium.....

I swear, it takes me 2 hours at the grocery store any more, cuz I'm reading all the labels....but then again....down nearly 100 pounds, I can stand at the grocery store for 2 hours and it doesn't bother me anymore!!!

I'm with you Kath,I read every label and it takes for ever. Payday has a protien bar thats great. It does take me 4-6 days to eat one.I try to stay away also ,it can make me think I'm starving, even tho I know I'm not.

Gosh Ladies, it's like having girls night out all the time being on this site! I'm new here, just a couple of days and the help you have all provided me with has been incredible!!!!! I super appreciate it! All of you are beautiful and so inspiring!

I've tried the snickers bars, while to me they are delicious, the carb content is so high! My Dr. advised me to pick ones that have 10 grams or less per serving. There are a couple wafer types out there, but it's like eating cardboard!

I guess I'm tired of what I have been choosing for protien, basically chix or beef, but it has to be boiled/stewed or otherwise mushy so it doesn't bother my tummy. I was eating a lot of cheese and nuts (go figure, they don't bother me!) but of course the fats and calories are so high! I was really getting hungry and snacking .

recently I started with a scrambled egg in the am, and someting like tuna or chix salad for lunch. That has helped, but I need some suggestions for some protiens that I can incorporate....

Thanks again Ladies!!!

Jaime

Yeah, I use EAS AdvantEDGE carb control shakes as a snack. Depending on the flavor, they have 3-6 grams of carbs and around 110 calories and around 17 grams of protien

I actually use protein shakes as a meal on occasion...they had use eating 2 meals and drinking one at first...and I still use this...but if I'm hungry or hubby wants to eat out...I will eat...I like to have my protein shake at night...I don't like to eat late...

If you are eating breakfast, lunch and dinner with protein....and using shakes as snacks, you should be satisfying your protein requirements....unless you are just after variety from chicken or beef....how about fish? I also have done pork, BBQ (watch the sauce...it's loaded in sugar)....low fat cheese, ham, turkey....mix it up!
