Default Dr. Robert Oliver

Hello all!

I just stumbled across this forum & found it interesting.

About me- I'm a Plastic Surgeon in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama. I have an interest in post-bariatric procedures & we treat a large number of these patients. During my surgery training at the University of Louisville in the late 1990's I was present for the explosion of bariatric surgery procedures & I personally performed just about every variation of the weight loss operation (both open & laparoscopic). During my subsequent Plastic Surgery training, I inherited many of those same patients for the continuation of their treatment with the rapidly expanding knowledge base on the special needs & issues associated with the post massive weight loss population.

I write a blog about all things Plastic Surgery called Plastic Surgery 101 which I try to find things people would be interested in about many different areas. My homepage for my practice is Birmingham Plastic Surgeon, Alabama Cosmetic Surgery, Birmingham Plastic Surgery

Please feel free to drop me a line at rob@oliverplasticsurgery.com if there's any questions people have about bariatric plastic surgery or medical-related and I'd love to write you back.

cheers!

Rob Oliver Jr. Md

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Red face Thanks for joining us!!!

Wow....
Love your blog....it's really interesting.
We all are excited about our weight loss....and think about if plastic surgery is for us.

Your knowlege and presence is appreciated in this forum...b/c it's hard to know which direction to go....and if it's all worth it.

I personally have no qualms or quivers about plastics....and will be having them as soon as we are financially able. I don't like to look of what is happening to my boobs, tummy and thighs.....

I still have about a 100# to go....so I imagine it will only get worse!

Thanks for all the wonderful information you have provided me, Dr. Oliver. I know I will be having cosmetics done soon, hopefully! That is if I can loose this last 30 lbs!

Welcome to our board.

Dr. Oliver, I am so glad that you stumbled upon us and hope that you stick it out with us. I am sure that there is much information that you can share with us and that we can learn from you. I hope that we in turn can help you out with learning from our backgrounds as well for your practice. I enjoyed checking out your blog also. I will have a lot of fun perusing through it in more depth later.
