I live in MS but I had my surgery in AL. It's only about an hour and 15 mins from my house, so it wasn't to bad. Anyway, my surgeon's name was Dr. Lane. He's AMAZING! When I woke up, I wasn't even in pain! Let me know if your in the area.

Your very lucky. My Doc was great and his office staff are wonderful. But when I woke up after surgery my head could have been on fire and I would not have noticed - I was in so much pain ( I am allergic to morphine so they said they had to use some alternative pain meds) I don't know what they were, but I was in alot of pain for a long time (but then again I was not sick from the pain meds and puking either). I was in the hospital for 4 days. I had several back surgeries over the years and my back was real bad too from laying like that on my back for long periods of time. Getting up and walking hurt. My back feels sooo much better now.

Hi neighbor! I'm in B'ham Alabama. My surgeon was Dr. Ronald Clements. He's moved to Tennessee, so now I see Dr. Jayleen Grames. They are both great! We are a Bariatric Center of Excellence here at UAB Hospital, with 2 support groups monthly, in house nutritionists who often come to the meetings, rehab instructors to help with exercising. Often our new patients come to the uab employee grp support meeting the day after surgery to get aquainted with staff members who've had wls.

Hello i am from mobile and my dr is dr lane too ! Wow happy too meet someone with same dr. My surgery should be in april i go for my preop on march 23 ....so not long now ...scared nervous worried about the before liquid diet ......just alot of emotions
