| Newbie here too!
Newbie here too! Hi all! I ...like Yana Jordan am 3 years post op in July. I was 280 lbs. lost my dad suddenly and had my surgery 2 weeks after he was buried. I don't know now how I did it other than I went through so much to get to that point and I just wanted the surgery so bad and knew that my dad would have wanted me to go thru with it. I am 170 lbs. now so you can do the math.. I too have been able to eat more now though and even though I walk everyday, I am not losing weight anymore. I'm only 5' 3" tall so I really should only weigh around 130 lbs. I feel at this point that I'm never going to get there. I was at 158 and that was my lowest weight so far and all I do is kick myself for gaining 12 lbs. back! I didn't go to any of the support classes because they were so far away from my home and I LOVE to cook! I'm afraid I'm falling off the wagon! What is the "5-day pouch reset" you were talking about? I'd like to try it so that I can gain control again. My problem is that even though I can't eat a lot at a meal, I want to snack all the time. I don't know what to do about that.
Thanks for listening (reading) and being here for others. It's great to have this forum to vent!
Sincerely,
bluiz

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on your successful weight loss.
Grazing can cause you problems, have you tried drinking water or whatever fluids (non-calorie) of choice when you get the munchies? That might help, as well as sticking to the pouch rules.
The 5 day pouch test is posted here in this forum, so go to the index page of Weight Loss Surgery Graduates and check it out.
((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.

| Welcome~ I started at 271 and am at 170. Lately the munchie monster has really come to life!! I am trying to keep only healthy snacks around to eat but it is a challenge. I'm sorry you lost your dad, it must have been a difficult journey emotionally to have that happen just before your surgery. Check out the pouch reset ~ several of our member have used it and thought it helped them. Glad you joined us ~ this is really a lifelong journey!

Welcome to the board and to the losers side of the bench. You will love it here and there is so much imformation here. I love it here and this site with these wonderful people keep me on track. We are all here to help you get back on track and the support here is wonderful. I also am very far away for support group to attend every month and I have been to a few and they are very interesting and learn alot. I am on here just about everyday and this is my support group now and without these people I would not be as far as I am today. When I see the before and after and the progress pictures, it is like WOW what an inspiration to me to keep me on track. When I am bored and want to reach for food, which is just a bad habit I had before and I am not going to fall back into that bad habit again. I come on here and I read and read and I post some things I would like to know and then I need a huge inspiration I look at the before and after pictures. I can look at them over and over and over again, I never get tired of looking at the pictures. But if I need to eat something I look for healthy foods to eat. I have made a few bad chiocies and have paid for it dearly. It reminds me that I do not want to do it again, but with me it takes more than once to learn a lesson. Now when I want something, boy am I into revising recipes, I am determined to get it to where I can eat it and not worry so much about carbs. But I made a few mistakes, which we all do and learn from our mistakes. What really helps my family is so into helping me revise recipes so that I can enjoys stuff too, just made a differernt way. I have gotten some good ideas from my family and friends. I have gotten tons of ideas from these wonderful people also.
