Default A question (surgery 6 years ago)

Hi All,
I am new to the Forum. I really needed to ask a question.
I had surgery 6 years ago. Something new is going on.

It seems food doesn't stop at the usual place it seems to go
down farther. Just above my belly button and cause cramping.
It just seems to land right there and sit.
Directly from my mouth to that area.

Have any of you experienced this? It causes extreme discomfort.
Yesterday at work it felt like it did when I had my kids.
That contraction pain. I couldn't move around.
I pretty much have to sit and wait it out.

Have any of you experienced this?

I am going to the Dr. but just wondered if this happens after
a certain number of years. What does it mean.?

Thanks so much,
Rachel

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Rachel,
I'm at 5 years and have no such experience.
Nothing new in diet or health otherwise?
Could be a number of things, but no real idea here...
Obviously your taking it to your doc and that's good.
Have you tried throwing the question out to 5year+ "Grads Board" sort of message boards? like- OH-Grads or Quix

The benefit of this place is the mix of post-ops and 1st year folk.
And, there's a Doc moderating.

Hope you find the diagnosis and fix soon.

Best Wishes-
Dx

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.

One thing that can happen whether you are early out or waaay out.
Gut obstruction--twisted intestines. Did you ever have hernia issues in the past that weren't serious enough to merit surgery in itself? If so, that could very well be the problem.
Another thing that could happen over the years is stricture where your bypassed intestines merge.
These are the two things right top off my mind, that needs the immediate attention of your surgeon.
In any case, since you are contacting your dr, please do get examined ASAP.

((((((HUGS)))))) Hope you feel better soon, and whatever the actual cause is, that you get it taken care of quickly.

Default Thanks ladies.

Thank you Ladies,
I am heading to the Dr. tomorrow.

I hope it's something simple. I can't complain much.
Compared to some, I've had a fairly easy time of
it to this point.
I will let you all know what they say. Just in case you come across
someone else with the same question.

talk to you all later,

Rachel

Yes, please come back and tell us what your Doc. says. The great thing about this site is you can search and find older threads about just everything, so someday what you write here might help someone else in the same situation.
