Default Lapband and coughing at night

This question is more for my husband...he had lapband surgery 4 years ago. He lost 100 lbs, and then quit going for adjustments, and gained back about 60 of those. He has now gone back for 2 adjustments, and now whenever he lays on his stomach at night, he coughs. Has anyone else experienced this? He's losing weight again, so he really hates to have any fill taken back out. Any suggestions?

Thank You

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thank you for your response. I had RNY as well, so I'm no help to him.

Just contact your Doc. A chronic cough is mentioned in the list of complications. Maybe they wont have to remove any fill. My daughter was having alot of stress at college(its her last year). She started throwing up some blood. They took her fill completely out and she was scared to death. They wanted to let her stomach rest. Funny thing was she hadnt been feeling alot of restriction but now with it out she has more restriction. They are going to fill again next week. Funny how that works. Sometimes we think more fill is better. Not always true , we just have to find that sweet spot. Good Luck. He did it once and he can do it again.

Does your husband have acid reflux? This causes coughing also. Im RNY myself so I cant help much more than that myself. No suggestions here other than calling the physican.

Sorry, I am due to have Bypass, but my husband was going to have lapband and now is changed to bypass. I found him a web site for lapband when he was going to get that, maybe it might be of help for him. Good Luck, but he should tell his doctor!!

just a thought... how long does he stop eating/dronking before he goes to lay down???
he may need to stay upright for a bit longer to be sure the liquids/soilds get down all the way...
not sure though...
