Bree: Thank-you. A wake up call is always a good thing. Im pulling myself out of a pit of poos from the last 2years and being back here has reminded me of what I had achieved, how hard it was and the seriousness of it all.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Amen, sister, AMEN!

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to have found this forum. It put me back on the right track and reminded me that the rules were given to me for a reason, not as a punishment!

it must be fate that brought me back here tonite. Ive been feelin pretty blue lately, with some weight gain, knee replacement and pneumonia this winter. Ive been doing not to bad but gained some and that scares me cause i feel when i lose my will power ive had it. A life long battle and im not going to give up on my new lifestyle. Im three years out and struggling ... thanks bree for the pep talk and seems like im not alone in my struggle. Like Michelle says ,,, im so glad i found my way back to this forum.. I will be checking in more often , to be accountable and know we are support family. Now that montana winter is slowing down some, maybe a person can get out the door for a walk soon. Its been snowing since October and hasnt quit, ice is solid but did my walkin in the house for some exercise with my knee knee.. im hopin spring will be a new beginning...

Yes great to hear from people who are as far out as you are. I remind myself daily of these rules and try very hard to be conscious of everything I do and eat. Again thanks for sharing. We appreciate it truely!

Thanks Bree & everyone else, we all need reminders no matter where we are on the journey. A few other things I learned over my 8 years since surgery
*Never get back into the diet mode and way of thinking. Just keep coming back to the rules and healthy lifestyle changes.
*Don't freak out if you have some little - or even big - slips along the way. The more you freak out the more likely you are to slip back into the downward spiral of feakout/hate self/eat/feakout/hate self/eat more etc. etc.
*Trust and believe in yourself
*Always focus on your wins - how amazing you are and what you've accomplished - not on your imperfections and slips or pounds you've gained back or still want to lose. You are magnificent and done magnificent things!
*Never be afraid to reach out for help - never be ashamed to admit if you're floundering - that's the old you who would hide and be afraid to reach out. Therapy is good but I personally love life coaching - it's more about problem solving and finding your strengths.
*Keep searching for new ways to tweak your program and keep moving ahead and becoming more of the strong winner you are.

I'm sure there's more - but those are the things that come to my mind right now. Remember it's not always about doing - but also about being.

Hang in there carvinmom. You did exactly the right thing coming back here and getting encouragement and revisiting what we all know works. You have done an amazing job to be where you are. This is not like past moments in your life where you're starting gaining weight back. Now you've got some great tools to help you, wonderful loving support, and a safe place to ask questions and not worry about being judged. I know you'll make it. Hey - if you can survive a Montana winter like that you can do anything!!
