Pain in upper left side of chest when eatting/drinking ..
For the last 2 weeks I have been having increased pain (sharp) in my upper left side of my chest when I eat or drink. I keep my food/water down and I have no digestion pain. I have not had any throwing up but on occassion I am nausous.
The pain is only in that area not anywhere else. I feel like the pain is in or under my upper left rib cage.
I am 3 years post-op in December. I will be calling my Surgeon in the morning to see what she thinks.
In the meantime has anyone had expereince with this? Could it be a hernia?
Side Note - I have never has any complications with my Bypass. This is the 1st time I am experiecing problems.
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.
Twisted gut. Hernia is the gut getting caught into the spaces left open after the fat melts away. Sometimes, the gut gets twisted along the way, not just getting caught.

Thank you Doc. I will call my surgeon in the morning. I was concerned it might be a heart problem but then realized it was happening every time I eat or drank something. I also was not having any other symptoms for a heart problem.
I'm scheduled for an xray tomorrow afternoon. I will see my PCP immediately after to discuss if they see a hernia.
My surgeon has put me on a liquid diet for a whole week. Eek .. that will be fun, not! Then I go in to see my surgeon next Friday. I am on Prevacid for some NSaids I have to take for my tailbone pain. They are thinking it might be an ulcer. If that is the case they will double the dose of my Prevacid & put me on an additional ucler med.
