I'm new here and have read every post I can find about United Healthcare. I work for Caterpillar and have UHC. I know UHC will cover the surgery if certain requirements are met. I was wondering if anyone else works for Caterpillar and what kind of hoops they had to jump through.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.
I have united health and didn't have to jump through any hoops. just make sure all the requirements are documented in the submission. They approved me with no problems and fairly quickly once they finally recieved the info...that was the problem..it kept getting lost...so stay on top of that
Wanted to say HI.........I found that the more info you give the insurance co the better.....They might just get tired of reading thru it all........I gave health info from like 8 yrs back. Anything that is wrong with you can help them make a decision
