CT | All shucks, you nearly made this pit bull cry! I dont have a lot of people backing me in this and that means alot! I do have a fight ,fight, fight attitude about this.. There has been very few things in my life that I was unable to achieve. Sustaned weightloss is one of them. During my 6 months pre op I become pretty annoyed with myself because I should have lost more by now but I just kept loosing and gaining!. I finnaly have the rite mind set and nothing will stand in my way now ! This is all for a healthier life and nothing will stop me now!

Thanks Kim , I really hope so!
I am proud of my self rite now. I am iratable rite now and no one really gets its. I just went walking tonight and walked and walked. I felt better letting the stress go. I have done some sort of exercise every day the last week and now I feel odd if I dont do it.

Hang in there. I saw a program once where it said that it's routine for all insurance companies to refuse everything on the first go around because so many people just give up. It's only the ones that resubmit that they change their minds and say OK.
I will never forget just how upset and sad I was when I got my refusal. But, like you, I wasn't about to give in and just kept pushing until I got a Yes. You do indeed have the right attitude to get through this and I'm sure you are going to lose a lot of weight once you get your surgery because you're going ot be one of those who sticks by the rules and does everything to get to goal.
Feel free to vent, that's what we're here for.

| Thanks, the funny thing is that My psyc test showed that I have the personality of one who has to have the rules laid out in front of me and is really bothered when I break them. The lady actually asked me if I am more upset by the cost of the speeding ticket or that I was speeding. I laughed and said I have never had a ticket! I do have to ask my self though… If I am this way then why I haven’t been able to stick to or maintain a weight loss of more than 30 pounds for more than 3 years? I lost 70 a few years ago and have gone up and down but have only been able to sustain 30 of it. I think down deep I know that this is my last chance and gaining control of my health. I know if I don’t do what I am told I will get sick and that is not what I plan to do! I think I will just plan on a denial the first time and be shocked if it does get approved. I will assume I will need to appeal. There is one good thing about a slow approval. I may end up with a September date and that would mean I could miss recovering in the humid August weather . Many people get nauseous from what I hear during their first month and I know then when ever I have been pregnant in August, it’s always been the worst time. HEAT! . I am not saying that I wont take an August date though. Heck I would be willing ti go in the morning. I 'm also starting to get really scared but I don’t dare tell any one. I don’t one any one to talk me out of this. Just to clarify what I am scared of is not the food, not the mental stuff, not even the operation. I am afraid of 10 years from now! I keep telling my self that in 10 years I will be 40 and have spent 30 years extremely overweight and would likely be sick any way! My mother has had cancer twice we have heart issues on both sides of my family as well as diabetes. There are things I want to do with my life and I just feel like I can’t do them until I get this last piece of me under control. I want to return to college and not have to decide on what classes I enroll in based on what classroom they are in.I once had to drop a class because I didn’t realize that it was in a room that used the 1 piece desks instead of table. I didn’t fit rite into the desks and was unable to concentrate on any thing other them my gut cutting into the desk part and my left butt cheek hanging off the left side of chair. It was not a fun class. I don’t ever want to have to look at a room listing when I pick a course. I will get there one way or another but I will never let my weight decide what I do ever again.

As nqB says, you'll get the best results by sticking to the rules. Firmly. Consistently. To the letter, with no creative deviations based on missing comfort, thinking you can have "just a little", or any other fancy justification. Some can get away with that stuff. Some can't. The way to find out is to volunteer to slow your progress, reawaken the carb monster and perhaps explore the wonderful world of dumping.
Personally, I chose to follow the rules. Peanut, my wife, is also doing it that way. And we are having very good results. You can see from my stats that it worked for me!
You've hired experts to help you lose this extra poundage you can't on your own. Makes sense to me that you'd want to do everything they tell you, the way they tell you. They've all been through this before, more times than you have or ever will!!
You're gonna do just fine!! Don't be scared. The healing started the day you committed to doing this and got better control of your eating habits. It really takes off on Surgery Day, and from there on just watch all your medical indicators move in the direction of better health and longer life. Read in the archives some of the health benefits we've all experienced. The cholesterol and triglycerides that have disappeared, the apnea lost and the glucose levels that have stabilized. Add it all up, and we must have saved enough on meds that if we chipped it all together we could pay for a few PS procedures!! (That'll be your next worry!!)

Thanks Prof! I know what I am felling is normal I just need time to deal with it all post op. I know my fear of future health issues is what will help keep me in line with the rules.
