I've been trying to find out what all the requirements are for my insurance, and it looks like I'm going to be out of luck for coverage. I MUST be diagnosed with diabetes, even with a BMI of >40, and I MUST be incapacitated by either a wheelchair or a walker. Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful that I don't have either of those problems, but the fact that I live in one of the most obese states, you would think that the medicaid program here would be a little more flexible about weight loss surgery. And I don't think I'll qualify for any kind of financing since I have a low income for the time being, and my credit is in the toilet anyway. This SUCKS! I was feeling so hopeful and it felt like everything was falling into place for me, FINALLY. Not really sure what I'm going to do now...
