Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum and had a question about insurance.
I am going on my 3rd month of Aetna's preop program. Has anyone else done this recently? I'm just concerned about getting the approval.

I have Aetna (as of Feb of this year). I have already done a 6+ month diet under the guidance of a DR. I went through my psych eval and physical therapy. Everything has been submitted...now we are just waiting on the insurance to approve or deny.....

My Surgeon's office says there shouldn't be any worries...but just over a week and we haven't heard back yet...hard to be patient.

If you are following the program to their specifications, usually that seems to go through (from what my DR office said). Good Luck I wish you all the best!!

Not Aetna's pre-op program, but most insurance companies seem to require a 6 month pre-op supervised diet. Are you working with a surgeon yet or just your pcp? The surgeons that do this routinely have a lot of experience dealing with insurance companies and getting the approvals they need.
