Unhappy I thought I had patience!!

I am waiting....waiting...waiting. Have done everything the insurance required and then some... Waiting waiting waiting.... I have researched to my hearts content and then some...

I am ready to just schedule my surgery already!!! I don't care if it is 2 months from now...I just kinda need to...ok want to know!

Sighhh...thanks for listening to me vent I geuss! I have Aetna EPO just switched to them in Feb after a job transfer, prior to that I had Blueshield Bluecross which required 6 month supervised diet which I did over a year. Aetna requires only 3 month supervised diet, passing pscyh eval, and the DR consult. I have Diabetes Type II, Gerds, Hypertension, and joint pain...oh and I'm fat I want to smile again after stepping off a scale!

Love to you all for listening to me and being there for my questions and all that! This is really the greatest site and the greatest group of people!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

The time will come, but patience is hard to come by when you are waiting. It was over 6 weeks before I got my approval and then when I didn't get the confirmation letter I was told I wasn't approved yet. But, after a very long weekend, the surgeons office got it straightened out. When I called to ask the status, the insurance company told me it normally only took 15 days but couldn't tell me why mine was taking so much longer. But it was definitely an exercise in patience. Once you get your approval, you may get in right away or there may be a wait, when I got my approval, the surgeons office was backlogged so it was another couple of months, now I am wondering where all the time went over the past year when I started this. But tomorrow is my last work day and that feels really strange.

I hope that you have a quick approval process, you could check with your surgeons office and see if they routinely check status or if you should.

Good luck and soon we will see you on the loser's bench.

Are you going to Dr. Gorospe in Owasso OK. He is the one that I choose to do my surgery. I live in Missouri, around Joplin. I have just started my journey, just had my First visit with my family Dr. I go to the seminar on the 7 of Aug. in Muskkogee OK. I have my 2nd family visit in four week, and the 3nd in middle of Sept.. I have already talked with our insurance company, and know what they need to ok the surgery. And my family Dr. knows what tests I need to do so he is having me start them already I go nutrition counseling next month. and my sleep study in Aug too.
So I am hoping that I can get my surgery sometime in last Sept or the month of Oct.
My friend with the insurance com is working with me to get approved with in 2 days after she gets the paper work from the Dr's office. She gave me a list of things that I needed to have done before approval.

I totally know how you feel! It took my insurance company 2 1/2 weeks for them to approve! I was going INSANE with waiting and called a couple of times but after the last time, my surgical coordinator called saying they had approved it! I was so relieved to finally hear and then i got the approval letter in the mail, it was pure excitement! Sending lots of prayers your way that you hear real soon about your approval!

I am going through a Center of Excellence in Norman, OK, DR Keith. Here is the website: OKlahoma WEIGHT LOSS OPtions

Thank you all for the kind words. I know I have done what they asked, so I will just sit back relax and enjoy the weekend. I know as soon as I forget about it they will call.
