Hey guys, got my approval call from my Dr's office last week. I just received the approval letter in the mail today from my Insurance company. I know I can ask my DR soon at my appt, but I was curious if anyone can answer a ? about the letter.

The letter shows that the surgery is approved and coverage decision for 9/13/10-9/13/10. 1 Day(s) surgical. The next review date for this confinement will be 9/14/10.

What does that mean? This could go under the stupid questions....not sure? Thanks!

Call the insurance company, might just be a typo. Usually it show a year time period. Then call your surgeon & ask them if they received the same letter or some thing different. Then ask them if they would like a copy of the one you received in the mail.

My insurance company asked the surgeon about the surgery date, could they have scheduled it without notifying you?

Other than that, I wouldn't know but would probably be calling.

I know my insurance company said my procedure scheduled on 7/30/10 had been approved. But at that point it had not been scheduled. I came to find out that my Dr.'s office put in a 'dummy' date to get the approval. When I called my insurance company back, they said just call them with the new date of service and that would be fine. I asked how long the approval was good for and they said one year. So, maybe that is their dummy date for you????? Call just to get a clarification. Better to be safe than sorry!

OOooooohhh I didn't think of that! You all are so smart! I'll call them before I head out of town....I can smell my vacation all ready.....hehe
