 Sooooo pi$$ed right now!
Just spoke with the insurance company. I called just to check on the status of things, to see how things were coming along. Well, I spoke with someone who is in the Bariatric Center-apparently BCBS of CA has their own Bariatric Dept who handles all claims, approvals etc... She was like, we havent received anything from your surgeons office. The only thing we have on file for you, is a call for your EOB for Bariatric Surgery.... Now, according to my surgeons office, they faxed over all my paperwrk last Tues, 1/11. Soooo, I call the surgeons office. I asked them, did you fax over my paperwork, and was told yes they did. I asked them to verify the fax # that they sent the pprwrk to.. It was the wrong fax#, wrong dept. So, my paperwork has been sitting somewhere at the BCBS office, with no one looking at it. The surgeons office re-faxed it over this morning, to the right # this time. So now I am back to square 1. I know that it really isnt that big of a deal, but I am really frustrated, mad, hurt, disappointed, etc.. I've always heard that patience is a virture, but I dont know about that anymore. I just know that I am ready to lose it! Thanks for letting me vent. I really appreciate it!

that sucks!!!! no wonder you are mad! i have learnt to always ring where the fax is goin and check that it made it. have had similar sits 2 you, diff stuff tho, and wont be making the same mistake.
i suggest calling your ins people and making sure it got there.

Im sorry you had to go though that. However im glad you did call. Its always good to follow up behind them. I always suggest that. You did the right thing. You made the call...... and followed up. If you didnt no telling how long it would have been if they ever got it. They would have put it in what they call the file 13. Meaning they have no idea where it goes. Most Places have a file 13.
Its ok.... Now you know it was faxed to the right number give it a few days then call back and get a update on it.

Yes, now you know to check maybe every 48 hours...to keep everything moving and make sure something didn't happen again! Just sux that we have to facilitate that when we pay the Dr's and Insurance so much money!!

Yea that does suck, the same thing happened to me when my surgeons office was supposed to fax all the paperwork to my insurance to get approval, then once approved it was supposed to go back to the surgeons office to get a date. Do you think it happened that smoothly in that order? Nope I cant tell you how many countless calls i made back and forth to the insurance company, the offices, and everyone in between just to get all this paper work handled. Needless to say it was taken care of after almost 2wks of getting the run around. At least now you caught it and now you know to follow up on it
