Default I had KFC and Man o Man you dont want to know.

Last night had KFC in a long time, 2 small pieces of Chicken and the ultra small portion of cole slaw....

well 30 min later hell broke loose, just a reminder that fatty food and bypass operation dont mix.

After six months still need to behave on what I eat... and yes the outcome was .

Any similar experiences and Advise.....

Thanks all

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I had KFC one time since this surgery. It was a very small amount of chicken. I pulled the breading off it. I done ok with it but the amount I had wasnt enough to feed a mouse LOL. Somthing I have really noticed is this...... Fresh foods go down ok but anything that isnt dont. The only hamburger I have even tried was Wendys because its fresh not frozen. I only take a couple bites and the hubby gets the rest. Anything that is processed is so foul with me.

I do miss eating out with the hubby once a week like we always did. Its more once a month and I watch what I order now. It has to be fresh or I dont get it. Like Shrimp and salad. Steak but I have to order the more expensive cuts because of the chewing and digestion. I love meatballs but I cannot tolerate them unless there homemade. I know one day we probally wont have this problem anymore but..... right now it wakes you up and makes you pay attention.

The worst for me? Eating a Hardees Steak Biscut. I love them. I had one last Sunday. It took about 30 minutes and i dumped majorly. It knocked me out for 3 hours afterwards also. This is the first one I had had since surgery. I woke up Sunday and thought I WANT ONE. I paid for it to. The meat is processed and breaded and deep fried. I used to manage a Hardees so I know how there cooked and really should have known better. Sometimes our taste buds take over and WHAM !!! LOL So yes honey I understand what you went though. Its not fun.

One thing I do allow myself once a month is pizza. I dont eat the bread. I flip the slice upside down and pull the toppings off. I cant still do any bread unless its fresh baked and only a muinute amount.

fat makes me dump, but I've pretty much sworn off fast food entirely....all it took was reading their nutrition charts online....one burger at some places is more fat than I usually myself ALL WEEK!!

My first "fast food" meal was KFC. I was about a month post op, and taking my granddaugher somewhere. She was 15 then and wanted something to eat. So we stopped at KFC. I had one drumstick, and small cup of plain mashed potatoes, and a small glass of water, in case I needed a sip. I peeled off the skin. No problems. I've eaten fried foods since then many times, with no dumping. Not everybody responds the same way to specific type foods. Sugar doesn't bother me either, yet one Lifesaver can cause someone else major problems. Since fatty foods or sugar doesn't bother me, I have to be "smarter than the tool I'm working with"--the RNY surgery. I control portion size, and keep a watchful eye on what I consume. I weigh myself daily, and I stay in a window of 200-205 pounds, usually at 203-204.

I was about 4 weeks out and was "out and about" and realized I was feeling really ill ~ hadnt eaten anything~~ anyway, the closest bathroom was a KFC and when I went in the door the smell alone sent me into ^$&%$*% - that was the sickest I've been (except for last night, ironically that was chicken too, but I think I ate too fast or maybe the sauce? anyway) You couldnt pay me to go to KFC - period, not even for rotisserie ~ just cant handle the smell of grease.

Afterthought - this may be a blessing for me as I always loved KFC before - it was a major treat.

I am also like dawn - what I can handle one day can make me dump another. When I had my stricture one of hte only thins i could keep down was KFC potato and gravy, so I am kinda over it now. Although I did have a small potato and gravy adn 3 chicken nuggets for lunch yesterday. I definately couldn't handle any form of burger, the bread just makes me feel really bleughhhh.
