Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hey!

I wanted to ask, do you guys eat any of the south beach stuff? And can we eat stuff like that?

I'm stressing, i'm going shopping tomorrow to get the house stocked up for myself and for everyone else.

I was thinking about that stuff if we could eat it.

And also what the H**L is good carbs? Explane it to me. I'm lost on that one. And how much fat, sugar, carbs, is to much? And what are the best food to eat at first?
I got some of those Dannon Frusion smoothe's (chalk) the other day and i cant do yogurt, i have never tasted it but the site makes me want to puke. (looks like snot. LOL)
BUT!!! I'm trying everything right now and i really dont care for these BUT! I can do it.
I like jello, BUT!!! The shaking makes me sick, (watch 2nd hubby play to much first doom.)
But i'm getting over that, is there anything you can tell me that is good and a good sorce of goodness? LOL!! before i head out to the stores tomorrow! I'll try anything once, MAYBE! LOL!!!!

BECCA...
first off every surgeon has a different protocal for when you first get
home from hospitol. PLEASe check how your surgeon puts you on foods.
FOR ME I WENT THRU STAGES like this:

Postoperative Diet
After surgery, you remain on a clear liquid diet for one or two days. When you’re able to pass gas, you are advanced to either a full liquid diet or a soft-moist diet, depending on your procedure and physician’s advice.
Note: During the first month, you must progress your diet very slowly to avoid frequent vomiting, which can perforate your newly formed pouch and ruin your chances for success. Do not eat regular foods too early and do not overeat.
Phase 1: Full Liquid Diet
  • 70 grams of protein each day - always eat your protein first.
  • Eight to ten cups non-carbonated, low calorie, low sugar fluids (protein supplement shakes, water, V8® juice, diet hot chocolate, diet iced teas and broth) throughout the day.
  • Skim Plus milk
  • Sugar-free yogurt
  • Sugar-free pudding or custard made with skim milk
  • Cream soups made with skim milk
  • Farina cooked in skim milk
Phase 2: Soft-Moist Diet
To avoid discomfort, foods should be very moist and soft and chewed to an oatmeal-like consistency before swallowed.
  • Eight to ten cups non-carbonated, low-calorie, low-sugar fluids throughout the day. Must include protein supplement shakes in order to avoid nutritional deficiencies. No liquids 30 minutes before or after a meal (Drinking with meals sabotages weight loss efforts by washing food out of your pouch and creating room for you to eat more calories).
  • Cottage and ricotta cheeses
  • Scrambled eggs or Egg Beaters
  • Minced or canned chicken or turkey - add moisture*
  • Low-fat cheese
  • Fish (sole, salmon, haddock, flounder, etc.) - add moisture*
  • Soft cooked vegetables - avoid stringy or tough textures
  • Limited amounts of very soft textured fruits
  • Avoid shellfish with tough textures such as shrimp, lobster and clams, otherwise mince finely and add a bit of sauce
*To make food easier to digest, add fat-free mayonnaise, lemon juice, fat-free gravy, broth, vinegar, fat and sugar-free salad dressing, or other low-fat liquids.
Sample Soft-Moist Diet
Breakfast1 scrambled egg with 1 oz. low-fat cheeseMid-morningProtein shakeLunch2-3 tbs. finely chopped low fat chicken salad
2-3 tbs. soft cooked carrots
Snack6 oz.V8 juiceLate afternoonProtein shakeDinner2-3 tbs. poached salmon with fat-free mayo and dill
1 tbs. soft cooked chopped spinach
1 stewed prune
Late night snackProtein shake
Phase 3: Regular Diet

CHUPPYGIRL...im not certain but im wondering if the trouble to swallow
is not chewing foods down enough. ALWAYS chew chew chew and small
bites at a time at your early post op stage.
THAT could be why you have swallowing issues.
I have stayed strict to the rule of no liquids with meals. IT pushes ur food thru your pouch to fast and you will get hungry faster.

all the best
