Just a little wow today at the doctor..... I have to have blood drawn every 3-6 months and it usually takes 4-5 sticks, and they only get a vein in my hand or wrist. (usually the last 2 years the INSIDE part of my wrist!)
Well, today I had to have blood drawn and she easily got a vein in my ARM! I was shocked- I guess losing a lot of fat made it a whole heck of a lot easier to get at my skinny veins.....go figure, of all things, I have SKINNY veins!

I was really amazed that I can see veins sticking out in the backs of my hands, just like skinny people. You never think about where that weight is being carried until things change.

That's a great wow. I hate needles. I don't have a problem having blood drawn but I have a problem with IV's. I was bruised all over the place from my gall bladder surgery and the 3 times I went to the ER for attacks. One of the nurses had to sick me 3 times to get the IV in.....uggg!! I hope you find out whats wrong asap. Hopefully it is an easy fix like you said.

I was exactly the same way before I lost all this weight. They always had to get my blood on the top of my hand becasue they just could not find my veins from all the weight I had on. If they did find the vein in my arm they just could not get any blood from the vein becasue they said that I had veins that jumped right away from the needle. Now the last time I had a blood test they had no problem what so ever taking blood from my arm and they said that it was so easy to hit the vein and the first time too.

Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I went in for a lab. My arms have veins running all over them now! They used to hide, now they're standing proud!
