I made it past the 50 lb loss mark. I have co-workers telling me winter is over when will I quit melting. I am loving this so much, wish I would have done it 5 years ago when I had the chance.
I can not tell all of you how much you mean to me and the support you provide to eveyone.
My sister is arriving on Saturday 5/8 from out of state, and she has not seen me since Christmas which was prior to my surgery. In one way I am so excited to see what she thinks, but sad because she is as heavy as I was and she will feel bad during her visit due to being jealous. She has no way to have the surgery because of insurance.
But YEA, YEA I am 52 pounds lighter and feeling great.   :c heerleader:

There will always be people in our lives who can't have the surgery for one reason or another, insurance, etc. Plus there IS always self pay, it takes some time to actually go through it all and be patient in paying it out before you get schedule for the surgery.

Peanut was convinced for a long time that she was a poor candidate for WLS. She was happy for my success, but sad that she couldn't share it. She mentioned it one time to the nurses at a followup visit and found it was possible. (The rest is history!!)
As Bree says, not everyone can have it. This is where you find out the quality of your relationships. Will she be glad of your success, or jealous that you're doing something she can't?
Remember - you didn't do this to make anyone else happy. You did this for yourself. Some folks would have us stay at risk of early death just to spare their feelings. Some folks want to run our lives. They aren't the ones you set out to please. You did this so you could have a longer, healthier, happier life with those you love.
Enjoy her visit! Introduce her at least to the healthier way you eat now. Just that much can help people improve their lives.

I am enjoying my visit with my sister, but she is miserable. She feels so bad that she is not losing weight that she now has managed to get insurance for herself. We will see if the WLS is possible.
Perfessor, she is very happy for me, but I truly understand how she feels. If She was the one losing this type of weight I would be beside myself.
I have collected a lot of material for her to read about meal plans, and body functions to aide weight loss. I have gotten her to agree not to take any pills. There is no short cuts to be healthy.
