| My First WOW!!!
OK....today is my 4 week anniversary from my surgery. Today I took my measurements and have lost 20.5 inches and am down 34.5 pounds since my surgery on Jan 22nd!
I have been walking 2 miles a day and doing a half an hour of pilates each night....and after taking my measurements, I am all encouraged again....I guess I should live with the motto that I am not running a race but a marathon, huh?
I was getting a bit discouraged because I was on a week plateau after just 3 weeks post op.
Thanks for listening
HUGS,
Valerie****

wow Valerie
I'm really proud of you look at all the progress you're making girl!! I couldn't resume my life before 6 weeks post op!
Touch wood you're walking and playing pilates!!
Listen just forget anout the scale. Just do things right (food & exercise) and you'll see the results no question about it. As for the platueaing it's gonna take place here and there just forget the scale at this time (I'm in the shoe right now! for 3 weeks!) just eat right and move right and I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine!
Love you a lot,
Hanadi

(*(*(*(*(*(*(***Hanadi***)*)*)*)*)*)*****thank you for your kind words and your encouragement!!! They mean alot!!
When I was dieting before, I remember that when I plateaued...that was always the time I lost the most inches.....I guess I have to get back in that frame of mind where I used to look forward to those plateaus.....LOL it has been a while since I had to think like that.
Again, thank you.....you rock, Hanadi!!!!
Tight Hugs,
Valerie*********

I agree with Chuppy. Forget about the scale and do what your doc. tells you. It will come off, even when there is a plateau. I've had a couple and have only weighed myself 5 or 6 time since WLS. You are doing great. Keep it up.
Do you have a trainer for plateaus or are you doing it to a tape?
Again, congratulations!

TAKEING the measurements are awesome cause alot of times
when that scale isnt moving it is the inches comeing off.
YOUR doing very awesome!

KEEP up the great work!
SORRY i been a little busier at work these days as i took

| Wow..... Valerie~ You are doing fabulous....I'm soooo proud of you! You seem to be playing the "game" just as your Doctor has specified....your exercise is soooo great! I think you are RIGHT ON TRACK in your weight loss....I think I had lost around 32-35#'s my first 4 wks..... FANTASTIC!! As far as the scale... You will hear all of us who have been around a while to 'forget about the scale'.....easier said - than done, Huh??? I can understand that!! Especially b/c we programmed ourselves early in our lives to LOVE the scale esp. when we are trying to lose weight! BUT...it's sooooo TRUE! Work on your mind to not "react" to whatever the scale says....what it says IS NOT WHO YOU ARE....nor does it reflect WHO YOU ARE!! No matter when or how many times you weigh, don't put more emphasis on the numbers & what they say! And...as Hanadi said..."get used to the stalls." They will definitely come...they are a huge part of this process. I have been on and off stalls for my whole 10mos. In fact, for the last couple of weeks...I' I've been on a slow time - not truly on a "stall"....but a slow for now. Good Luck....and CONGRATULATIONS!!! Take pictures....if only for you for now.....but take those pictures!!! |

Kat,
I have a lot of pilates DVD's and tapes but my favorite one is the Pilates for Dummies....(not the Pilates for weight loss one) Thank you for your kind words and encouragement
Lisa,
Yep....I was waiting for this plateau but I didn't think it would come at the third week, LOL....kinda surprised me. Thank you , as always, for your encouragement and kind words
Thank you beckamarie and Doc for your encouragement!! You both are so very nice and I appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment
FemmeMode,
THANK YOU for your encouragement! I have no idea how much weight loss is normal during the first month, so I appreciate your sharing the fact that you loss 32-34 pounds in your first month. I was wishing that I would of taken my measurements BEFORE I had my surgery instead of the day I got home from the hospital when I was all bloated and my abdomen was the size of Texas, LOL! I am sure my measurements would of been a lot more accurate....oh well, hindsight is 20/20, right? I also appreciate your comment about the scale not dictating who we are...that is so very true....anyway, thank you for your comments and most of all, your encouragement!!!
