 |  Another WOW moment today!
Today I went to see my pulmonary doctor to see about coming off CPAP. I hadn't been seen in 2 years and the nurse that checked me in was really confused. We were going over my meds list that was in their computer and after me saying "no I'm not on that anymore" 4 or 5 times she asked me if I was Judi ____ , birth date 4/3/--? I told her I was and that I had come off a lot of my meds after having wls and losing weight. I just didn't realize it was so many! I'm now off... Metformin, Glyburide, Gemfibrozil, Lasix, Aspirin, NSAIDS, Ambien, Cymbalta, and a couple more I can't remember. When they measured my neck it was 3 " smaller!
When I saw the doctor and after we talked for awhile she looked in my throat and said it was wide open now! I told her my DH said I didn't snore any more and she said I probably didn't need CPAP anymore. So now I'll be having another sleep study in December just to make sure. I am just so happy to be getting healthy! That has been and always will be my #1 reason for having wls... and even though the road has been a rocky one both pre and post op the only regret I have is not doing it sooner!
Diabetes--- in remission!
High Blood Pressure---- gone!
High Triglycerides---- gone!
High Cholesterol---- gone!
Edema---- gone!
Back pain---- almost gone!
Sleep Apnea--- probably gone!
Weight---- almost gone!
Isn't life great!!! |

Even though we loosely call it "weight loss" surgery, we really should call it "health restoration" surgery! Did you ever dream it'd be this effective at clearing up your charts?
BTW - we have two really nice CPAPs sitting in a closet gathering dust. Anyone got any ideas what a person can do with one?
