Today is my 4 month surgiversary. All I can say is that even though it happened in August, I got the best Christmas gift ever! This year I can do more than I ever thought possible! Last Christmas was a chore; a burden to get done with because I did not have the stamina to do much of anything. What a difference the whole year has made! I am no longer a prisoner in a body that was dictated by food! It no longer has that power over me; now, I choose IT, properly, nutritionally and gratefully! It also seems that along with the weight, my "walls" are coming down, rapidly so. Oh, everything is not all rainbows and unicorns; I still have the same emotional battles as before; and now some new ones...I just know how to better handle them now. I am able to feel emotions and not hide from them, but embrace them and make better decisions in my life, because I'm not in a sugar-induced stupor! Everyday is a new adventure, no matter how bad things seem, and I can't wait to get up everyday to see what happens next. Dr. G, the best bariatric surgeon in the world, I don't know if you ever check out this site, but you, along with an incredible group of people, have given me my life back! I have to say that it is among one of the best gifts I ever received! Thank you so much, and thank God for letting me be one of the lucky ones!!
