| Super Moderator | Ahhhh, just saw your pics, to me, you look just right, healthy and tight. ![]() Interesting, though. I've noted that a number of people says of having been told as looking anorexic because of the weightloss, when looking at their pics, they look totally *normal* to me. I guess, any sort of weightloss in an acquaintance is kinda spooky and threatening for those who say so, because, medically speaking, anorexic is totally a different thing, and the funny thing is, people who actually suffer from anorexia often look like twins.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Personally I think you look awesome! ![]() What's funny is I got those comments too. Mostly from family members. Often people don't 'get it' that a lot of obese women have very small frames. Plus if you look healthy then you are! When I used to get these comments and I'd complain to the professional female body builders at the gym they'd laugh and say you look great! which to ME was the best compliment ever. Yes I was tiny then, teeny, with little body fat, but I was healthy looking. Men actually told me I had great legs..wow, do what?! With this gain my family seems to think I look more like 'me' and etc other comments which really disturbs me! I felt more like the strong woman I was when I was small and tight, warrior like

| Super Moderator | Hmmm. Just as a lot of you do for a long time, I guess a lot of others who've known y'all for a long time, have a hard time getting that "fat girl image" out of their heads and recognizing how a healthy you actually looks like, or should look like. Well, I think y'all are looing healthy and great now, and ya know, I have the eye for it, I'm a pro, after all.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Thanks guys for your words of encouragement I agree with everyone but I think what Doc says sums it up about people seeing us as the "fat person", and anything else is adnormal, we just can't win. anyway....Happy Losing, Debbie

| Super Moderator | Of course you can win!! Just keep at it, show 'em how healthy and happy you are, and you'll win everyone over to your side ...except, um, those with vision in their hearts.Besides, it's their problem, not yours.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | ....get my 2 cents in! Although I think there is some truth to what everyone said - I think some find it difficult to accept up as THIN PEOPLE because few of us do the tough work on the "INSIDE"...and "healing within" as we are dealing with our PostOp condition....and it's easier to see us as "FAT." I also agree that some are like what Lisa/Fr1endly2 said & think there are 'some' that ARE jealous....They don't want to see us change - for 'whatever' reasons. __________________________________________________ ____ And then....last but not least - there is MY worst enemy - ME...the same one who in my head - who sabotaged myself...and set me up for failure with every diet I ever tried..... This is the same enemy that doesn't want me to succeed even with the WLS. So....I'm set up to
LET'S DO THE INTERNAL HARD WORK....dealing with the the head stuff...so these feelings will not be a yoke around my neck! JUST Do the work!! LOOK for the hard spots - and jump right in!!~
