| Wow moment.....
I have lost 35 pds and got a new hair cut and WOW the expression and comments of friends and family. I have been told I have lost 10 years of age and look spectacular. What a great feeling. People are so much more aware of me, I dont blend in any more. I cant imagine what the future holds for me.
I do have a concern though, my husband who is not over weight (well a little) has not stopped eating. Its like he picked up whwere I left off. Has any one seen this with thier spouse? I want him to have my energy level when it comes back. I want to live............

Congratulations! My husband has been losing a little weight since I had surgery. It is sort of a sympathy diet. So cute!

| My husband is..overweight. He is afraid of surgery-period. But, he has lost 45 lbs since I started my journey. Wish I could give you some advice on yours ... I hear you. I know what you mean by having the energy to do things, now that you will be able to. Maybe others can relate some experiences for you. Good luck.

Congrats on the WOW moment, I know you feel incredible!
As far as your hubby is concerned...are you sure he's eating more or does it seem like he's eating more because you are able to eat so little? Think about this for a sec...you were most likely eating with him before surgery but now you cant really do that anymore. When he's eating and you're not, it probably feels like he's eating all of the time and too much of it too. I dont know, just something to think about...

Hi melanie6, I've notice more and more how much the people around me eat. Like last night was pizza night for hubbub and teen son. Neither of which ever gain an ounce. They each ate 4 pieces. I was getting sick just watching and had to leave the room. Same with all the family meals. They sit in shock over how little I eat while I gag over how much they eat. Sometimes it makes me sad that it took this extreme experience to open my eyes. Makes me want to sneak in more and more healthy food for them. Boy what a rollercoaster ride.

Boy what a rollercoaster ride. | I know what you mean, I have a teenage boy and a preteen boy (and two girls too, but they havnt developed a voracious appetite)...they could probably eat a whole pizza each if I let them. They are healthy too, but my oldest boy bmx bikes so he rides several miles per day...never gains an oz. Ive already started swapping out bad for you foods with healthier versions and substitute items in my recipes for healthier options.
I too get sick watching people gorge themselves with fatty foods. I cant even watch certain programs on Food Network because it makes me sick to watch. Times they are a changin'

I haven't had surgery yet, buti have cutback greatly on how much I eat and what I eat. I try to gently encourage my hubby to cut back on what he is eating.... He is obese and knows it.... He has talked about was, but he has lots of work to do before he can do it.

| congrats on your wow's It feels good doesn't it!
As for the hubby = Yeah, Before I had my surgery, I had noticed for a few years that with my husband - the more weight I gained the more he lost. he was obcessed with his weight and losing it. Now not so much. I always said that since he is such a control freak, and he could not control my weight, he was gonna control his. |
