Default I'm a little nervous

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful evening. I have been on this site a bunch of times mainly just reading and getting great advice from everyone. Its wonderful that there is a site like this its amazing how much support there is and we def need it after we have this surgery.

I am 8 weeks out from my RNY and have lost 36lbs. everything has been pretty good with some ups and downs with figuring out what to eat and that sort of stuff but for the most part no complaints.

I've never posted anythong before mostly because reading everyone experience was enough, but today i find myself posting because i'm going through something that is making me very nervous.

Earlier this AM I was eating breakfast in the car on my way to drop the kids off @ school, then head to the gym. I think i didn't chew eonough cuz i felt something stuck in my esophagus it hurt for a while then i got the foamies and finally threw up. But even after that i still felt like it was still lingering in my mid chest. I got threw my workk with having the foamies like 4 times. I came home and showered thought if i had a yougart it would push it down. nope just threw that up. waitied for about an hour tried some water and threw that up took a nap. woke up and a couple of hours later tried again with some tea and threw up, Well know its night time and I still can't hold down anything.........This has never happend to me and I'm a little nervous to the point of wanting to call the doc. then i thought maybe i should try this first. Please if anyone has any suggestions i could really use them.

Thanks for listening.
Mabel

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi Mael.
I'm just 12 weeks out so I'm not sure. I have read that if you can't even get yogurt or water down you may have a stricture. I think you should call your Dr in the AM. It's not life threatening, just have to put a scope in, check, and if so, stretch opening a bit. But definatley call in the morning. Good luck! Let us know.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on your wonderful weight loss.

First off, call your surgeon pronto and ask.

Second, give your system time to settle a bit. 8 weeks out means some things are still out of kilters. It may be that the first episode of swelled up some things a bit, which will go away with time, but even if it is this, you need to let your surgeon know what's going on.

Strictures can sneak up on you, so, if when you look back, you can remember times when you had somewhat a hard time in food going down, you may have had one developing over time. If you continue to even liquids, the probablity of a stricture is high.

In any case, call your surgeon. If he/she asks you to get an endoscopy done, have the schedule set up as soon as possible.

(((((HUGS)))) May your journey go well.

My doc told me if I got 'the foamies' to take a sip of water every 30 minutes until it resided. I don't know how much you're drinking to throw up, but if it's more than a sip, then try the sipping. If it's only a sip and you're still throwing up, call you doc ASAP.
