Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  Surgery Date 5/20/2008 Hell All. First and foremost let me say you all look so amazing. And are a true inspiration for me to continue on with the surgery. A little bit about myself. I'm 21, I'm a single mother of an amazing baby boy who is 2. I lost my best friend in December of 2006. And it's been the hardest road to ever continue walking without her. However I'm alive and still breathing with the Grace of God. I've always been over weight. I was a really small child, until about 2nd grade then I just kinda started to blow up. My mom think's it was from my childhood sexual abuse. The dr's say it was diabetes. I say a little of both. My main goal for this surgery is be healthy. I'm so tired of being sick and not feeling well. I'm always sick. If I'm not sick, I'm tired. And I don't want my son to grow up with a mother who can't play and run with him. So this is why I'm about to have this surgery. I've seen so many people completley change their lives, and look and feel great. I hope to be one of those people. My surgery date is May 20th. My best friend's birthday. She would have been 23 this year. It's a bittersweet day for me. But I think she would have loved the idea that I'm changing my life on her birthday, the day she was born, and the day the world would change forever. Well at least my world. I'll be on here as much as possible, because I love reading your success stories, and seeing your pictures. I only thought that America was overweight, but happy to see that other countries are benefitting from this surgery as well. It's a global blessing. To all, thanks so much for telling your stories.
