Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  Follow Up Surgery Yesterday Yesterday I underwent surgery to correct an incisional hernia which came about as a result of my gastric bypass surgery in November. When the surgeon went in he found the hernia as well as a fluid-filled cyst. Because there was fluid present, the doctor was unable to place a mesh screen for fear of future infection ... so now I have to be extremely careful in an attempt to prevent a future hernia in the same place. On a positive note, the surgeon removed the original scar which was huge and hideous. Hopefully I'll heal nicer this time. The last time I posted here I complained that I was only losing a couple of pounds a week. Well, I've officially felt the sting of plateaus as I hovered around at the same weight of 230 pounds for a good month. Finally this week, though, I noticed a 5 pound loss so maybe I'll start losing again. Wow, plateaus are discouraging!! I hope everyone else is doing well ... *sending hugs to you all
